Team Up, Team Up*

It’s all been about collaborations this week.

I’d already read last month about the imminent release of Camden Town Brewery and Beavertown Brewery creation – Gamma Ray APA x Hells Lager – on Camden’s website. So while I was casually browsing Instagram on my lunch break yesterday, I was sent into a semi-frenzy (which almost initiated slight regurgitation of my reheated chicken chasseur) when they posted living proof of the little bugger being bottled.

They’re suitably classing the mash up as an ‘American Pale Lager’ and, as seems customary nowadays with Camden and Beavertown, this coming together has resulted in an awesome bottle design. The cheeky little number launches on the Camden brew bar on the 27th of this month and is sure to be as weird and wonderful as the trippy artwork hints at.

Once I had composed myself, I returned to my scrolling of social media feeds expecting nothing to result in any more beer/food salivation when POW! Pure Bar and Kitchen announce they’ve been busy concocting a food and beer pairing menu with non-other than the Michelin starred Adam’s restaurant within spitting distance on Bennett’s Hill.

The Birmingham collaboration will see Pure Bar host the super talented Adam Stokes on Monday 13th October while he prepares some exquisite dishes, each course paired with craft beer (Purity Brewing Co, as well as others).

Check out the menu and accompanying dishes here, but a word to the wise, if you’re currently about to sit down to your microwave cottage pie for one, with a pint of double strength own-brand squash, your about to feel very hungry, extremely envious and probably a little aroused, but that’s okay, so did I. My chicken chasseur was only average.

* This post is all about breweries and restaurants teaming up with one another. As a result I’ve had the lyrics from Four Year Strong’s Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die stuck in my head for the short time I was typing this out, hence the use of their lyrical genius.
